Jesus Heals a Man Who Couldn’t Move His Body
(Vas 1-8)

1. Then Jesus entered a boat and went back across Lake Galilee to the town where He lived.

2. Some people brought to Jesus a man who couldn’t move his body. The man was lying on a mat. When Jesus saw that the man and his friends trusted Him completely, He said to him, “My son, don’t worry! I have forgiven you your sins.”

3. Then some teachers of God’s Law thought in their hearts and said, “This Man does not respect God. He thinks that He is God!”

4. But Jesus knew what they were thinking. So He asked them, “Why are you thinking evil things in your hearts?”

5. Which one is easier, to say, ‘I have forgiven you your sins,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?

6. But I want you to know that here on earth I, the Son of Man, have the power to forgive people their sins.” Then Jesus said to the man who couldn’t move his body, “Stand up. Take your mat and go home!”

7. So the man stood up and went home.

8. When the large crowd of people saw what happened, they were in great awe. And they praised God who gave such power to human beings.

Jesus Calls Matthew to Follow Him

9. As Jízọs kọmọ́t fọ dát ples kọ́n waká de gò, I sí wọ́n man wé de kọlẹ́t taks fọ Rómán gọ́vmẹnt. Di man nem na Mátiu, an i sidọ́n fọ di ọ́fis wiá i dé de kọlẹ́t taks. Naím Jízọs tẹ́l am, “Fọ́ló Mi.” An Mátiu stán ọp kọ́n fọ́ló Am.
9. Then Jesus left that place, and as He was walking along, He saw a man who was collecting taxes for the Roman government. The man’s name was Matthew and he was sitting in the tax collection office. Jesus said to him, “Follow Me.” And Matthew stood up and followed Jesus.

10. Later, Jesus was sitting down in Matthew’s house for a meal. A lot of tax collectors and other people who had bad reputations joined Jesus and His disciples for the meal.

11. When the people who belonged to Pharisee group saw what was happening, they asked Jesus’ disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with people who collect taxes and other people who have bad reputations?”
12. Bọt wẹ́n Jízọs hiá wétín dẹm tọk, I kọ́n sé, “Pípul wé wẹl nọ́ níd dọ́ktọ. Na sík pípul níd dọ́ktọ.”
12. But when Jesus heard what they asked, He said, “People who are well, do not need a doctor. It is sick people that need a doctor.”
13. Mék una gó lẹ́n wétín di tin min wẹ́n Gọd tọ́k fọ Im Buk sé, ‘A wán mék pípul de sọ́rí fọ ọ́dá pípul, an nọ́ bi mék dẹm de mék ánímál sákrífaiz de gív Mi.’ ” An Jízọs kọntíniú wétín I de tọk. I sé, “A nó kọ́m kọ́l pípul wé tínk sé dẹm bi bẹtá pípul mék dẹm fọ́ló Mi. Na sína-dẹm A kọ́m kọl.”
13. Go and learn what it means when God says in His Book, ‘I want people to show mercy to others, not for them to bring animal sacrifices to give Me.’ ” Jesus continued to speak saying, “I did not come to call people who think they are righteous to follow Me. I came to call sinners.”

14. Then the disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus. They asked Jesus, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your disciples do not fast?”
15. Naím Jízọs ánsá dẹm sé, “Abí una tínk sé di pípul wé kọ́m márej nọ́ go dé hapí wẹ́n di man wé wán márí waif stil dé wit dẹm? I nọ́ de hápún laik dat! Bọt taim go kọm wẹ́n pípul go ték di man wé wán márí waif kọmọ́t frọm wiá dẹm dè. Na dát taim dẹm go fast.
15. Jesus answered them, “Do you think that the wedding guests are sad when the bridegroom is still with them? Certainly not! But the time will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them. It is that time that they will fast.

16. No one will take a new unshrunk cloth to patch the hole of an old cloth. If a person does this, the place where the old cloth is patched will shrink when it is washed. And this will make the old cloth tear even more. Then the hole in the old cloth will become bigger than it was before.
17. An nóbọ́di de pọọ́ niú wain ínsaíd óld waín-bag wé dẹm mék wit ánímál kandá. Íf pẹ́sin dú am, di óld waín-bag go bọst. Di wain go trowe, an di óld waín-bag go spọil kpátákpátá. Bọt na ínsaíd niú waín-bag wé dẹm mék wit ánímál kandá naím pípul de pọọ́ niú wain. Dis go mék di wain an di niú waín-bag mék dẹm dè kánkpẹ́.”
17. And no one will pour new wine into old animal wineskins. If a person does that, the old wineskins will burst. The wine will spill out, and the wineskins will be ruined. But people pour new wine into new animal wineskins. This will preserve both the wine and the new wineskins, so they are not destroyed.”

Jesus Raises Up a Girl Who Died and Heals a Sick Woman

18. While Jesus was still talking to the disciples of John the Baptist, one of the Jewish rulers came up to Jesus. The ruler knelt down in front of Jesus and said, “My daughter just died. But come and place your hand on her, and she will come back to life again.”

19. So Jesus and His disciples stood up and followed the man.

20. Then a woman who had been suffering from severe bleeding for twelve years, came up behind Jesus and touched the hem of His clothing.
21. Di wúman bin dú dat sékọf sé i tẹ́l imsẹf, “Íf a ónlí tọ́ch Im klọt, a go wẹl.”
21. The woman did this because she said to herself, “If I only touch His clothing, I will be healed.”
22. Naím Jízọs tọ́n raund, an wẹ́n I sí di wúman, I kọ́n sé, “Mai pikin, mék yu nó wọ́ri! Di trọst wé yu trọ́st Mi dọ́n mék yú wẹl.” Fọ dát taim gọọ́n, di wúman kọ́n wẹl.
22. Then Jesus turned around, and when He saw the woman He said, “My child, do not worry! The faith you have put in Me has made you well.” At that very moment, the woman was healed.

23. When Jesus entered the ruler’s house, He saw flute players playing burial music. And He saw many other people who were crying loudly.
24. Naím Jízọs sé, “Mék una kọmọt! Di gẹl nẹ́vá dai. Na slip i jọ́s de slip.” Naím ọ́l ọf dẹm stát to láf Am.
24. Jesus said, “Go away! The girl has not died. She is just sleeping.” Then all of them started laughing at Him.
25. Bọt áftá dẹm dọ́n sẹ́n di pípul gó aúsaid, naím Jízọs ẹ́ntá di gẹl rum. I hól di gẹl fọ hand, an di gẹl kọ́n wék ọ́p frọm dai.
25. But after the people had been sent outside, Jesus went into the girl’s room. He held her hand and the girl woke up from death.
26. Di niuz abaut wétín Jízọs du kọ́n waká ẹ́ntá ẹ́vríwia fọ dát éria.
26. The news about what Jesus did spread everywhere throughout that entire region.
Jízọs Kiọ́ Tuú Blaínd Mẹn
Jesus Heals Two Blind Men
(Vas 27-31)
(Verses 27-31)
27. As Jízọs de kọmọ́t fọ dát ples, naím tuú blaínd mẹn stát to fọ́ló Am de shaút, “Dévid Pikin, mék Yu sọ́rí fọ ọs!”
27. As Jesus was leaving that place, two men who were blind started to follow Him. They were shouting, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”
28. Wẹ́n Jízọs ẹ́ntá di haus, di blaínd mẹn kọ́m mít Am. Naím Jízọs áks dẹm, “Una bilív sé A fít mék una si?” Dẹm ánsá am, “Yẹs, Ọgá!”
28. When Jesus entered the house, the blind men came to Him. Jesus asked them, “Do you believe that I can make you see?” They answered Him, “Yes, Lord!”
29. Naím Jízọs tọ́ch dẹm ai kọ́n sé, “Mék i hápún to una sékọf sé una bilív sé i go hápun!”
29. So Jesus touched their eyes and said, “Let it happen to you because you believe that it will happen!”

30. Their eyes were opened, and they were able to see. Then Jesus warned them sternly. He said, “Make sure you do not tell anyone what happened.”

31. But after the two men left, they went everywhere in that entire region telling everyone about Jesus.
Jízọs Kiọ́ Wọ́n Man Wé Nọ́ Fít Tọk
Jesus Heals a Man Who Could Not Talk
(Vas 32-34)
(Verses 32-34)
32. As di tuú mẹn wé dé blaind bifọ jọ́s de kọmọt, naím sọm pípul bríng wọ́n man kọ́m mít Jízọs. Di man nọ́ fít tọk sékọf sé bád spírit hól am.
32. As soon as the two men who had been blind were leaving, some people brought a man to Jesus. The man was unable to talk because he was possessed by an evil spirit.
33. Bọt áftá Jízọs draív di bád spírit kọmọ́t frọm ínsaíd di man wé nọ́ fít tọk, naím di man stát to tọk. Ọ́l di pípul wé dé dia sọpraíz wẹ́l wẹl, an dẹm sé, “Wi nẹ́vá sí dís kaín tin fọ Ízrẹl.”
33. After Jesus cast out the evil spirit from inside the man who could not speak, the man started to speak. All the people who were there were very amazed, and they said, “We have never seen anything like this in Israel.”
34. Bọt di pípul wé bilọ́ng to Fárisí grup kọ́n sé, “Na dẹ́vul, wé bi di bád spírit dẹm chif, na ím de gív Jízọs páwa wé I de ték draív bád spírit-dẹm kọmọ́t frọm ínsaíd pípul.”
34. But the group of Pharisee people said, “It is the devil who is the chief of the evil spirits, that gave Jesus the power to cast out evil spirits from inside people.”

Jesus Feels Sorry for the People
(Vas 35-38)
(Verses 35-38)

35. Then Jesus traveled all around to the towns and villages. He taught in the prayer houses of the Jews. He preached to people the Good News about how God rules people as King, And He cured people of all kinds of diseases and sicknesses that they had.

36. When Jesus saw the very large crowd of people, He felt deeply sorry for them because many things troubled them. And they had no one to help them. They were just like sheep with no one to take care of them.

37. Then Jesus said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers to gather in the harvest are few.”
38. Sódiáfọ, mék una bẹ́g Gọd, wé bi di Ọgá wé gẹ́t di krọp, só dat I go sẹ́n mọọ́ pípul mék dẹm gó ínsaíd di fam go hẹ́lẹ́p gádá Im krọp.
38. Therefore, beg God, who is the Owner of the harvest, so that He will send more people to help gather in His harvest.
