Haú Dẹm Ték Kíl Jọn Wé de Baptaíz Pípul

How John the Baptist was Killed

1. Fọ dát taim, Hẹ́rọd wé de rúl Gálílí Prọ́vins kọ́n hiá abaut wétín Jízọs de tích an du.

1. At that time, Herod who was the ruler of Galilee Province, heard about what Jesus was teaching and doing.

2. Naím Hẹ́rọd tẹ́l im sávant-dẹm sé, “Dís man na Jọn wé de baptaíz pípul. I dọ́n wék ọ́p frọm dai. Naím mék i gẹ́t páwa fọ dú dís mírákul-dẹm.”

2. So Herod said to his servants, “This man is John the Baptist. He has risen from death. That is why he has power to do these miracles.

3. Hẹ́rọd tọ́k dát tin sékọf sé, i bin dọ́n kọmánd im sója-dẹm mék dẹm hól Jọn wé de baptaíz pípul, ték chen taí am, an pút am fọ prízin. Hẹ́rọd dú dís tin sékọf Hẹródias. Hẹródias bi Fílip waif bifọ́ Hẹ́rọd kọ́n márí am. An Fílip bi Hẹ́rọd brọ́da.

3. Herod said that because, he had ordered his soldiers to arrest John the Baptist, chain him up, and put him in prison. Herod did this because of Herodias who was Philip’s wife before Herod married her. And Philip was Herod’s brother.

4. Jọn bin dọ́n de tẹ́l Hẹ́rọd sé, “Awa Lọ nọ́ alaú yu mék yú márí Hẹródias wé bi yọ brọ́da waif!”

4. John had been telling Herod, “Our Law does not allow you to marry Herodias, your brother’s wife!”

5. Nó mátá sé Hẹ́rọd wán kíl Jọn, bọt i bin de fiá Juu pípul. Dis na sékọf sé dẹm bilív sé Jọn na prọ́fẹt.

5. Although Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of the people. This was because they believed that John was a prophet.

6. Bọt wẹ́n Hẹ́rọd bátdè rich, Hẹródias dọ́ta kọ́n dáns fọ frọ́nt ọf ẹ́vríbọ́di wé kọ́m di bátdé patí. Di dans wé di gẹl dans mék bẹlẹ́ swít Hẹ́rọd wẹ́l wẹl.

6. But when Herod’s birthday came, Herodias’ daughter danced in front everybody that came to the birthday party. The girl’s dance greatly pleased Herod.

7. Naím kọ́n mék am swiá sé i go gív di gẹl énítin wé di gẹl áks am mék i gív am.

7. So he swore that he would give the girl whatever she asked him to give to her.

8. Di gẹl mamá kọ́n tẹ́l am wétín i go tọk. Naím di gẹl tẹ́l Hẹ́rọd sé, “Mék yu gív mí naú nau, di hẹ́d ọf Jọn wé de baptaíz pípul, an mék yu pút di hẹd fọ plet.”

8. The girl’s mother told her what to say. So the girl told Herod, “Give me right now, the head of John the Baptist on a plate.”

9. Di king nọ́ hapí sámsám. Bọt sékọf sé i dọ́n swiá fọ frọ́nt ọf ẹ́vríbọ́di wé kọ́m im bátdé patí, naím i gív ọ́da mék im sója-dẹm gív di gẹl wétín di gẹl want.

9. The king was very sad. But because he had sworn in front of everybody who came to his birthday party, he gave the order for his soldiers to give the girl what she wanted.

10. So i sẹ́n wọ́n ọf im sója-dẹm mék i gó fọ prízin kọ́t Jọ́n hẹd kọmọt.

10. So he sent one of his soldiers to go to the prison and cut off John’s head.

11. Dẹm pút Jọn hẹd fọ plét kọ́n bríng am gív di gẹl. Dẹn di gẹl kárí am to im mamá.

11. They put John’s head on a plate and brought it and gave it to the girl. Then the girl carried it to her mother.

12. Di pípul wé de fọ́ló Jọn im wè kọ́n kọm, an dẹm kárí Jọn dẹd-bọdí kọmọ́t gó bẹ́rí am. Dẹn dẹm kọ́n gó tẹ́l Jízọs wétín hápun.

12. John’s disciples came and carried his dead body away and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus what happened.

How Jesus Fed Five Thousand Men and Many Other People

(Vas 13-21)

13. Wẹ́n Jízọs hiá di tin wé hápún to Jọn, naím I kọ́n ẹ́ntá bot kọmọ́t fọ dát ples. I gó fọ wọ́n ples wiá pípul nọ́ dè, an I dé dia ónlí Imsẹf. Bọt wẹ́n di pípul hiá sé Jízọs dọ́n ẹ́ntá bot kọmọt, naím dẹm kọmọ́t fọ dẹm taun-dẹm kọ́n waká fọ land fọ́ló Am.

13. When Jesus heard the news about what happened to John, He entered a boat and left that place. He went to a place where there were no other people, and He was there by Himself. But when the people heard that Jesus had left in a boat, they came out from their towns and followed Him on foot.

14. Wẹ́n Jízọs kọmọ́t frọm di bot, I sí plẹ́ntí plẹ́ntí pípul. I sọ́rí fọ dẹm wẹ́l wẹl, an I kiọ́ di sík pípul wé dé amọ́ng dẹm.

14. When Jesus came out from the boat, He saw a very large crowd of people. He felt very sorry for them, and He healed the sick people who were among them.

15. Wẹ́n ívnin rich, di pípul wé de fọ́ló Jízọs Im wè kọ́m mít Am tẹ́l Am sé, “Dis na ples wiá pípul nọ́ de liv, an nait dọ́n de kọm. Mék Yu tẹ́l di pípul mék dẹm stát to gò, só dat dẹm go gó ínsaíd di vílej-dẹm wé dé niá hia an baí fud fọ dẹmsẹf.”

15. When evening came, Jesus’ disciples came to Him and said, “This is a place where people do not live, and it is already getting late. Send the people away, so that they can go into the villages that are around here and buy food for themselves.”

16. Bọt Jízọs tẹ́l dẹm sé, “Dẹm nọ́ níd to kọmọ́t de gò. Mék unasẹf gív dẹm sọ́mtin mék dẹm chọp!”

16. But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to leave. You give them something to eat!”

17. Naím di pípul wé de fọ́ló Im wè tẹ́l Am sé, “Na ónlí faíf brẹd an tuú fish wi gẹ́t fọ hia.”

17. His disciples said to Him, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish.”

18. Jízọs kọ́n sé, “Mék una bríng Mí di brẹd an di fish.”

18. Then Jesus said, “Bring Me the bread and the fish.”

19. Naím I tẹ́l di pípul mék dẹm sidọ́n fọ gras. Dẹn I ték di faíf brẹd an tuú fish, kọ́n lúk ọp fọ hẹ́vun, an kọ́n tánk Gọd. I kọ́n divaíd di brẹd gív di pípul wé de fọ́ló Im wè, an dẹm shiá am gív di pípul.

19. Then He told the people to sit on the grass. He took the five loaves of bread and two fish and looked up to heaven and thanked God for them. He divided the bread and gave them to His disciples, and they gave them to the people.

20. Ọ́l di pípul chọ́p bẹlẹful. Dẹn di pípul wé de fọ́ló Jízọs Im wè kọ́n gádá di písís ọf fud wé rimen. An di písis fúl twẹ́lf baskẹt.

20. All the people ate until they were satisfied. Then Jesus’ disciples gathered the fragments of food that remained. The fragments filled twelve baskets.

21. Di mẹn wé chọ́p di fud dé araún faíf taúzan, an dẹm nọ́ kaúnt di wímẹn an smọ́l pikin-dẹm wé fọ́ló chọ́p am.

21. The men who ate the food were around five thousand, not counting the women and children who also ate.

Jízọs Waká Ọntọ́p di Bíg-Díp-Wọtá Wé Dẹm de Kọ́l ‘Lek Gálíli’

Jesus Walks on the Water of Lake Galilee

(Vas 22-33)

22. Áftá dat, Jízọs kọ́n tẹ́l di pípul wé de fọ́ló Im wè mék dẹm ẹ́ntá bot. I tẹ́l dẹm mék dẹm fẹ́st Am krọ́s gó di ọ́dá saíd ọf di bíg-díp-wọtá wé dẹm de kọ́l ‘Lek Gálíli’. Dẹn I sté bak to tẹ́l di pípul mék dẹm gó bák fọ dẹm haus.

22. After that, Jesus told His disciples to get into the boat. He told them to go ahead of Him across to the other side of ‘Lake Galilee’. Then He stayed back to tell the people to go back to their homes.

23. Áftá I dọ́n sẹ́n di pípul gó bák fọ dẹm haus, ónlí Am kọ́n klaímb wọ́n maúntin mék I gó pre. Na ónlí Am dé dia wẹ́n ívnin rich.

23. After He had sent the people back to their homes, He went up a mountain alone to pray. When evening came, He was there alone.

24. Bai dís taim, di bot dé faá faá frọm land. Di rọ́f wọtá bin de kárí di bot ọ́p an daun sékọf sé wind de bló kọ́m fọ di bot frọnt.

24. By this time, the boat was far away from land. The waves tossed the boat up and down because the wind was blowing against the front of the boat.

25. Bitwín tírí o’klọk an síks o’klọk fọ ẹ́lí mọ́nin, Jízọs kọ́n de waká ọntọ́p di wọtá fọ gó mít di pípul wé de fọ́ló Im wè.

25. Between three and six o’clock in the early morning, Jesus came walking on top of the water toward His disciples.

26. Wẹ́n dẹm sí Am de waká ọntọ́p di wọtá, fia kách dẹm wẹ́l wẹl. Naím dẹm sé, “Na gost-oó!” An dẹm kọ́n stát to shaut sékọf sé fia hól dẹm.

26. When they saw Him walking on top of the water, they were very afraid. They said, “It’s a ghost!” And out of fear, they started to shout.

27. Bọt Jízọs tẹ́l dẹm atwọns sé, “Mék una hat strọng! Na Mi! Mék una nọ́ fia!”

27. But Jesus spoke to them at once, “Take courage! It is Me! Do not be afraid!”

28. Naím Píta tẹ́l Am sé, “Ọgá, íf na Yu trútru, mék yu kọmánd mi mék a waká ọntọ́p di wọtá kọ́m mít Yu.”

28. Then Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is truly You, command me to walk on top of the water to come to You.”

29. Naím Jízọs sé, “Kọm!” So Píta kọmọ́t frọm di bot kọ́n stát to waká ọ́n tọ́p di wọtá fọ gó mít Jízọs.

29. Then Jesus said, “Come!” So Peter came out of the boat and started to walk on top of the water going toward Jesus.

30. Bọt wẹ́n Píta sí di strọ́ng wind, fia kọ́n kách am an i stát to sínk gó ínsaíd di wọtá. Naím i shaut, “Ọgá, sév mi-oó!”

30. But when Peter saw the strong wind, he became afraid and started to sink into the water. So he shouted, “Lord, save me!”

31. Dẹn Jízọs strẹ́ch Im hand kọmọ́t atwọns kọ́n hól Píta. I tẹ́l Píta sé, “Di trọst wé yu trọ́st Mi dé smọl wẹ́l wẹl! Wétín mék yu gẹ́t tuú-maind?

31. Then Jesus at once stretched out His hand and took hold of Peter. He said to Peter, “Your faith in Me is so little! Why did you doubt?

32. Wẹ́n tuú ọf dẹm klaímb ẹ́ntá ínsaíd di bot, di wind kọ́n stọ́p to blo.

32. When the two of them climbed into the boat, the wind stopped blowing.

33. Naím di pípul wé dé ínsaíd di bot kọ́n baú daún fọ Jízọs an gív Am rẹspẹt wẹ́l wẹl. Dẹm sé, “Trútru, Yu bi Gọd Pikin!”

33. Then the people who were in the boat worshiped Jesus. They said, “Truly, You are God’s Son!”

Jesus Heals Sick People in Gennesaret

(Vas 34-36)

34. Áftá dẹm dọ́n krọ́s gó di ọ́dá saíd ọf Lek Gálíli, dẹm kọ́n lánd fọ Gẹnẹ́sárẹt.

34. After they had crossed over to the other side of Lake Galilee, they landed at Gennesaret.

35. Wẹ́n di pípul wé de lív fọ dát ples sí sé na Jízọs, dẹm kọ́n sẹ́n mẹ́sej to di pípul wé de lív araún dát éria. Naím di pípul wé de lív araún di éria kọ́n bríng ọ́l dẹm sík pípul kọ́m mít Jízọs.

35. When the people who lived in that place recognized that it was Jesus, they sent messages to the people who lived around that area. So the people who lived around the area brought all their sick people to Jesus.

36. Dẹm bẹ́g Jízọs mék I gri mék di sík pípul ónlí tọ́ch di daún pát ọf Im klọt. An ọ́l di pípul wé tọ́ch am kọ́n bikọ́m wẹl.

36. They begged Jesus to allow the sick people to only touch the fringe of His clothing. And all the people who touched it were healed.
