Pharisees and Sadducees Ask Jesus to Do A Special Miracle for Them

1. Some Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus. They wanted to trap Him. So they asked Him to do a miracle for them that will show that His power came from God.
2. Bọt Jízọs ánsá dẹm sé, “Wẹ́n ívnin rich, una de sé, ‘Tumọ́ro wẹ́da go gud sékọf sé skai dé rẹd.’
2. But Jesus answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘There will be good weather tomorrow, because the sky is red.’

3. And in the morning, you say, ‘Rain will fall today because the sky is red and dark.’ You are able to look at the sky and know how the weather will be. But you’re not able to understand the meaning of the things that are happening now!
4. Pípúl ọf dís taim dé wíkẹd wẹ́l wẹl an dẹm nọ́ de ték ọ́l dẹm hat de fọ́ló Gọd! Dẹm wán mék A dú mírákul fọ dẹm wé go shó sé Mai páwa kọ́m frọm Gọd! Bọt dẹm nọ́ go sí éní mírákul wé nọ́ bi di mírákul wé Gọd dú to Jóna.” Naím Jízọs lív dẹm kọ́n kọmọt.
4. People of this time are very wicked, and they do not follow God with all their hearts! They want Me to do a miracle for them that shows My power comes from God! But they will see no miracle except the miracle that God did to Jonah.” Then Jesus left them and went away.

5. Jesus’ disciples took a boat and crossed to the other side of Lake Galilee. But they forgot to take bread with them when they were leaving.
6. Jízọs tẹ́l dẹm sé, “Mék una dé kiáful an mék una de wọ́ch wẹ́l wẹl sékọf di yist wé Fárisí pípul an Sádusí pípul de yuz.”
6. Jesus said to them, “Be careful and watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
7. Naím di pípul wé de fọ́ló Jízọs Im wè stát to tọ́k amọ́ng dẹmsẹf sé, “Na sékọf sé wi nọ́ bríng brẹd wé mék Am tọ́k so.”
7. Then the disciples started to talk among themselves. They said, “He said this because we did not bring bread.”
8. Jízọs sabí wétín dẹm de tọk, naím I kọ́n sé, “Di trọst wé una trọ́st Gọd dé smọl! Wétín mék una de tọ́k amọ́ng unasẹf abaut brẹd wé una nọ́ gẹt?
8. Jesus knew what they were saying, so He said, “You have little faith in God! Why are you discussing among yourselves about not having bread?
9. Abí una stíl nó ọndastan? Abí una nọ́ rimẹ́mbá wẹ́n A yúz faíf brẹd ték gív faíf taúzán mẹn chọp? Na haú méní baskẹt una fúl wit di písís ọf fud wé rimen?
9. Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember when I used five loaves of bread to feed five thousand men? How many baskets did you fill with the leftover pieces of food?
10. An wẹ́n A yúz sẹ́vún brẹd ték gív fọọ́ taúzán mẹn chọp? Na haú méní bíg baskẹt una fúl wit di písís ọf fud wé rimen?
10. And when I used seven loaves of bread to feed four thousand men? How many baskets did you fill with the leftover pieces of food?
11. Hau i bí sé una nó ọndastán sé A nọ́ de tẹ́l una abaut brẹd? A de tẹ́l una sé, mék una de wọ́ch wẹ́l wẹl sékọf di yist wé Fárisí pípul an Sádusí pípul de yuz!”
11. How is it that you do not understand that I was not talking to you about bread? I am telling you to be careful of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!”
12. Naím di pípul wé de fọ́ló Jízọs Im wè kọ́n ọndastán sé, I nọ́ de tẹ́l dẹm mék dẹm wọ́ch wẹ́l wẹl sékọf di yist wé pípul de ték mék brẹd. I de tẹ́l dẹm mék dẹm wọ́ch wẹ́l wẹl sékọf wétín Fárisí pípul an Sádusí pípul de tich.
12. Then Jesus’ disciples understood that He was not telling them to be careful because of the yeast used in making bread. He was telling them to be careful because of what the Pharisees and Sadducees teach.

13. When Jesus came to the area near the town of ‘Caesarea Philippi’, He asked His disciples, “Who do people say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14. Dẹm ánsá, “Sọm pípul de tọ́k sé Yu bi Jọn wé de baptaíz pípul. Ọ́dá pípul de tọ́k sé Yu bi Ẹlaíja. An ọ́dá wọns de tọ́k sé Yu bi Jẹrẹmáya ọ wọ́n ọf di prọ́fẹt-dẹm.”
14. They answered, “Some people say that You are John the Baptist. Other people say that You are Elijah. And others say You are Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15. Then Jesus asked them, “And you? Who do you say I am?”

16. Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the God who lives forever and ever.”

17. Then Jesus said to him, “God has blessed you, Simon son of Jonah! Because it is not a human being that made you know this thing. But God, who is My Father in heaven, He made you to know this.

18. And I say to you that you are Peter. And on this rock I will build My church. And even death itself will have no power to destroy it.

19. I will give you the keys which will make you have the authority to look after the people who God rules as King. Anything that you do not allow people to do on earth, will be what God in heaven has already not allowed them to do. And anything you allow people to do on earth, will be what God in heaven has already allowed them to do.”
20. Dẹn Jízọs kọ́n kọmánd di pípul wé de fọ́ló Im wè mék dẹm nọ́ tẹ́l éníbọ́di sé na Ím bi di Kraist.
20. Then Jesus gave strict orders to His disciples that they should not tell anyone that He is the Christ.

Jesus Speaks About His Suffering and Death

21. Frọm dát taim de gó frọnt, Jízọs stát to tọ́k plén plen to di pípul wé de fọ́ló Im wè sé I mọsto gó Jẹrúsálẹm. An fọ dia, di ẹ́lda-dẹm an di chíf prist-dẹm an di tícha-dẹm wé de tích Gọd Lọ go mék Am sọ́fá wẹ́l wẹl. Dẹm go mék pípul to kíl Am, bọt fọ tẹ́d dè, Gọd go wék Am ọp frọm dai.
21. From that time going forward, Jesus started to talk plainly to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem. And there, the elders and the chief priests and teachers of God’s Law will make him suffer many things. They will cause people to kill Him, but on the third day, God will raise Him up from death.

22. Peter then took Jesus aside and started to scold Him. Peter said, “God forbid, Lord! This will never happen to You!”
23. Bọt Jízọs tọ́n raund kọ́n tẹ́l Píta, “Kọmọ́t fọ Mai frọnt, Sétan! Yu de traí blọ́k Mai wè. Dis na sékọf sé, yu nọ́ de tínk di wè wé Gọd de tink. Yu de tínk di wè wé pípul de tink.”
23. But Jesus turned around and said to Peter, “Get away from Me, Satan! You are an obstacle to Me because you do not think the way God thinks. You think the way people think.”
24. Naím Jízọs tẹ́l di pípul wé de fọ́ló Im wè sé, “Íf éníbọ́di wán bi pẹ́sin wé de fọ́ló Mi, di pẹ́sin mọsto stọ́p to de tínk abaut imsẹf an wétín i want. An dẹn di pẹ́sin mọsto kárí im krọs an fọ́ló Mi.
24. Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to follow Me, he must stop thinking about himself and what he wants. And then he must carry his cross and follow Me.
25. Dis na sékọf sé, éníbọ́di wé wán sév im laif go lọ́s am. Bọt éníbọ́di wé lọ́s im laif sékọf sé i de fọ́ló Mi, di pẹ́sin go gẹ́t ríl laif.
25. Because, anyone who wants to save his life will lose it. But anyone who loses his life because he is following Me, the person will have true life.
26. Na wétín pẹ́sin go gen íf i gẹ́t ẹ́vrítin wé dé fọ dís wọld, bọt kọ́n lọ́s im ríl laif? Na wétín pẹ́sin go gív fọ ték gẹ́t bák im ríl laif?
26. What will a person gain if he gets everything in this world, but loses his real life? What will a person give to get back his real life?
27. A de tẹ́l una ọ́l dís tins sékọf sé, Mi, wé bi Húmánbin Pikin go kọ́m wit di grẹ́t páwa wé Gọd, wé bi Mai Papá dọ́n gív Mi. An Mai énjẹl-dẹm go kọ́m wit Mi. An dẹn A go pé-bák ích pẹ́sin fọ wétín i dọ́n du.
27. I tell you all these things because, I, the Son of Man will come with the great power that God, My Father has given Me. And My angels will come with Me. And then I will reward each person for what he has done.
28. A de tẹ́l una tru sé, sọm pípul wé dé hia nọ́ go dai bifọ́ dẹm sí Mi, wé bi Húmánbin Pikin de kọ́m to rúl di wọld as King.”
28. I tell you the truth, some people here will not die before they see Me, the Son of Man, coming to rule the world as King.”
