The Good News that John wrote about Jesus Christ, doesn’t just tell us about Jesus’ life and the miracles which He did. It helps us understand what Jesus’ teachings really mean.

Di stát ọf Jọn im buk de tọ́k abaut di Wọd, wé bi Jízọs

The beginning of the book of John speaks of the Word, which is Jesus.

Di buk de tẹ́l ọs sé Jízọs dé wit Gọd bifọ́ Gọd mék di wọld, an na trú Jízọs na ím Gọd mék ẹ́vrítin. Dẹn Jízọs kọ́n bikọ́m húmánbin an I lív fọ wọld.

It tells us that Jesus was with God before God created the world, and that God made everything through Jesus. Then Jesus became a human being and lived on earth.

Throughout John’s book, we see that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He came to the world to show us how much God loves us. He also came to save us from the wrong things that we do against God (John 3:16-17).

Jọn arénj di tins wé dé fọ di buk mék dẹm sọraúnd wétín Jízọs tich an di mírákul-dẹm wé I du.

John shaped the contents of the book around what Jesus taught and the miracles He did.

Sọ́m ọf di tins wé Jízọs tich an wé dé impọ́tant wẹ́l wẹl bi dis:

A few very important examples of what Jesus taught are:

1) Jízọs tọ́k sé dẹm mọsto bọ́n pẹ́sin agen (Jọn 3:1-8)

1) Jesus said that a person must be born again (John 3:1-8).

2) Jízọs an Gọd dé tait wẹ́l wẹl. Di páwa wé Jízọs gẹt sékọf sé I bi Gọd Pikin. (Jọn 5:19-23; 10:30, 36-38).

2) Jesus’ relationship with God and the authority He has as God’s Son (John 5:19-23; 10:30, 36-38).

Fọ ẹ́vrí mírákul wé Jízọs du, I ték am shó pípul sọ́mtin abaut wétín Imsẹf bí laik an wétín I kọ́m du fọ dís wọld. Dis na sọm ẹzámpul:

Each miracle He did showed something about what He was like and His mission. For example:

1) Jízọs tọ́n wọ́tá íntó wain fọ wọ́n máréj patí (Jọn 2:1-11).

1) Turning water into wine at a wedding feast (John 2:1-11).

5) Jízọs wék ọ́p Lázárọs frọm dai (Jọn 11:1-44). Wétín Jizọs du shó sé I gẹ́t páwa pás dai.

5) The raising of Lazarus from death (John 11:1-44), shows Jesus’ power over death.

Fọ wétín Jízọs tọ́k fọ ték tẹ́l pípul bai bai, an di préya wé I pré to Gọd wé bi Im Papá (Jọn 14-17), Jízọs shó sé di lọv wé I lọ́v di pípul wé de fọ́ló Im wè dé big gọọ́n. In His goodbye speech and prayer to God His Father (John 14-17), Jesus showed how much He loved His disciples. He also showed how much He loved those who will believe in Him because of His disciples’ message about Him.

Na trú di dai wé Jízọs daí fọ krọs an di wek wé Gọd wék Am ọp frọm dai, naím Jízọs ték fínísh di wọk wé I kọ́m dú fọ wọld (Jọn 18-20).

Jesus fulfilled His mission on earth through His death on the cross and being raised from death by God (John 18-20).
