God Raises Jesus from Death

1. The day after the Jews’ Day of Rest was the first day of the week. Just as it was dawning on the first day, Mary Magdeline and the other Mary went to see the tomb.

2. At that time, the ground started to shake very strongly because an angel of the Lord came down from heaven. The angel went to the tomb and rolled the stone away from the entrance of the tomb. Then he sat on top of the stone.

3. The angel was shining as bright as lightning. His clothing was as white as snow.

4. The guards were very afraid. They shook with fear and became like dead men.

5. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are looking for Jesus, who they killed on a cross.
6. I nọ́ dé hia. Gọd dọ́n wék Am ọ́p frọm dai, jọ́s as I tọ́k sé Gọd go du. Mék una kọ́n sí di ples wiá Im bọdí bin dè.
6. He is not here. God has raised Him up from death, just as He said God would. Come and see the place where His body was.
7. Ọ́yá, mék una gó kwík kwik gó tẹ́l di pípul wé de fọ́ló Im wè sé, ‘Gọd dọ́n wék Am ọ́p frọm dai! I de gó Gálíli, an I go dé dia bifọ́ una kọm! Na dia una go sí Am!’ ” Dẹn di énjẹl kọ́n tẹ́l di wímẹn sé, “Mék una rimẹ́mbá wétín a dọ́n tẹ́l una-oó!”
7. Now, go quickly and tell His disciples, ‘God has raised Him from death! He is going to Galilee, and He will be there before you! You will see Him there!’ ” Then the angel said to the women, “Remember what I have told you!”

8. So the women left quickly from the tomb. They were afraid, but they were also very happy. They ran to tell Jesus’ disciples what happened.

9. But Jesus met them by surprise and said, “Greetings!” They came near to Him, held His legs, and bowed down to Him to show Him great respect.

10. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brothers to go to Galilee. They will see Me there.”

The Leaders of The Jews Bribe the Soldiers Lie About What Happened

11. While the women were going, some of the soldiers who were guarding the tomb went into the city. The soldiers told the chief priests everything that had happened.

12. Then the chief priests met with the elders and made a plan. They gave the soldiers a lot of money.
13. Dẹm tẹ́l di sója-dẹm sé, “Mék una tẹ́l pípul sé, ‘Di pípul wé de fọ́ló Jízọs Im wè kọ́n tíf Im bọdí fọ nait wẹ́n wi de slip.’
13. They said to the soldiers, “You are to say to people, ‘The disciples of Jesus stole His body at night while we were sleeping.’
14. An íf di gọ́vnọ hiá abaút am, wi go tọ́k to am, an una nọ́ go ẹ́ntá wahála.”
14. If the governor hears about it, we will speak to him, and you will not get into trouble.”

15. So the soldiers took the money and did what the chief priest and elders told them to do. The Jews still tell each other this story to this day.

Jesus Appears to His Disciples

16. Then the eleven disciples of Jesus went to Galilee. They went to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go to.
17. Wẹ́n dẹm sí Jízọs, dẹm baú daún to Am fọ ték rẹspẹ́t Am wẹ́l wẹl. Bọt sọ́m ọf dẹm nọ́ dé shọ sé na Jízọs trútru.
17. When they saw Jesus, they bowed down to Him to show Him great respect. But some of them were not sure that it was really Jesus.
18. Naím Jízọs kọ́m niá dẹm kọ́n sé, “Gọd dọ́n gív Mí ọ́l páwa wé dé fọ hẹ́vun an fọ wọld.
18. Then Jesus came near them and said, “God has given Me all power in heaven and on earth.
19. Sódiáfọ, mék una gó to ọ́l di pípul wé dé ẹ́vríwia fọ wọld. Mék uná mék dẹm to bikọ́m pípul wé de fọ́ló Mai wè. Mék una baptaíz dẹm bai di páwá ọf Gọd wé bi Mai Papá, an ọf Mi wé bi Im Pikin, an ọf di Hólí Spírit.
19. Therefore, go to all people everywhere in the world and make them My disciples. Baptize them by the power of God My Father, and of Me His Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

20. And teach them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, that I am with you always, even until the end of the world.”
