MATTHEW CHAPTER 22

Jízọs Tẹ́l di Párébul Abaut Wọ́n Máréj Patí

Jesus Tells the Parable About a Wedding Feast

(Vas 1-14)

(Verses 1-14)

(Luk 14:15-24)

(Luke 14:15-24)

1. Jízọs yúz párébul-dẹm ték tọ́k to di pípul agen. I sé,

1. Jesus used parables to talk to the people again. He said,

2. “Di wè wé tins go bì wẹ́n Gọd de rúl as King go bí laik dís párébul. I gẹ́t wọ́n king wé dú máréj patí fọ im bọí-pikin.

2. “The way things will be when God rules as King will be like this parable. There was a king who gave a wedding feast for his son.

3. Di king sẹ́n im sávant-dẹm mék dẹm gó kọ́l di pípul wé i bin dọ́n kọl to kọ́m di patí. Bọt di pípul nọ́ grí kọm.

3. The king sent his servants out to tell the people who had been invited to come to the feast. But the people refused to come.

4. Naím i kọ́n sẹ́n ọ́dá sávant-dẹm. I tẹ́l dẹm sé, ‘Mék una tọ́k dis to di pípul wé a kọl mék dẹm kọ́m di máréj patí, “A dọ́n rẹdí di chọp fọ di patí. A dọ́n kíl mai mán-kau-dẹm an mai fát yọ́ng kau-dẹm. Ẹ́vrítin dé rẹdí. So mék una kọ́m di máréj patí!” ’

4. So he sent out some other servants. He said to them, ‘Say this to the people that I have invited to the wedding feast, “I have prepared the food for the feast. I have killed my bulls and my fat young cows. Everything is ready. So come to the wedding feast!” ’

5. Bọt di pípul wé di king kọl mék dẹm kọ́m di máréj patí nọ́ kiá abaut wétín di king im sávant-dẹm tọk. Di pípul jọ́s kọmọ́t gó dẹm ón wè. Wọ́n ọf dẹm gó im fam, anọ́dá wọn gó wiá i de dú im bíznẹs.

5. But the people who the king had invited to the feast did not care about what the king’s servants said. They just went on their own way. One of them went to his farm, another went to his place of business.

6. Di ọ́dá wọns hól di sávant-dẹm. Dẹm bít dẹm an dẹn kọ́n kíl dẹm.

6. The other ones took hold of the servants. They beat them and then killed them.

7. Naím di king vẹ́ks bád bad. So i sẹ́n im sója-dẹm mék dẹm kíl di pípul wé kíl im sávant-dẹm. An di sója-dẹm bọ́n di pípul dẹm taun.

7. Then the king became very angry. So he sent his soldiers to kill the people who killed his servants. And the soldiers burned down the people’s town.

8. Dẹn di king tẹ́l im ọ́dá sávant-dẹm sé, ‘Di máréj patí dọ́n rẹdí. Bọt di pípul wé a kọl mék dẹm kọ́m di patí nọ́ gúd rích di kaín pípul wé sọpóz kọm.

8. Then the king said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready. But the people who I invited to the feast did not deserve to come.

9. Sódiáfọ mék una gó fọ mén rod-dẹm an kọ́l ẹ́vríbọ́di wé una sí dia mék dẹm kọ́m di patí.’

9. So go to the main streets and invite everyone who you find there to come to the feast.’

10. Naím di sávant-dẹm kọmọ́t gó fọ rod-dẹm gó gádá ọ́l di pípul wé dẹm fít faind. Sọ́m ọf di pípul wé dẹm gáda bi gúd pípul an sọm bi bád pípul. So di họl wiá dẹm de dú di márej kọ́n fúl wit pípul wé kọ́m di patí.

10. So the servants left and went to the roads to gather all the people that they could find. Some of the people they gathered were good people and some were bad people. So the wedding hall was filled with people who came to the feast.

11. Dẹn di king kọ́m ínsaid mék i sí di pípul wé kọ́m di patí. I sí wọ́n man wé nọ́ wiá kọrẹ́t máréj klọt.

11. Then the king came inside to see the people who came to the feast. He saw a man who was not wearing the right clothes for a wedding.

12. Naím i áks di man sé, ‘Mai frẹn, na haú yu ték ẹ́ntá hia wẹ́n yu nọ́ wiá kọrẹ́t máréj klọt?’ Bọt di man nó tọ́k énítin.

12. So he asked the man, ‘My friend, how did you come in here without wearing the right clothes for a wedding?’ But the man had nothing to say.

13. Naím di king tẹ́l im sávant-dẹm, ‘Mék una taí im hand an lẹg, an trowé am aúsaid fọ ínsaíd dáknẹs. Fọ dát ples, pípul go kraí an graínd dẹm tit.’ ”

13. Then the king told his servants, ‘Tie his hands and legs and throw him outside into darkness. In that place, people will cry and grind their teeth.’ ”

14. Fọ ték fínísh di párébul, Jízọs kọ́n sé, “Gọd dọ́n kọ́l plẹ́ntí pípul, bọt di pípul wé I go chuz nọ́ go plẹntí.”

14. To finish the parable, Jesus said, “God has called many people, but the people that He will choose are few.”

(Verses 15-22)

(Mak 12:13-17; Luk 20:20-26)

15. Dẹn di Fárisí pípul kọ́n kọmọ́t gó plán haú dẹm go yúz wétín Jízọs tọk ték kách Am fọ trap.

15. Then the Pharisees left that place and planned how they would use what Jesus said to trap Him.

16. Naím dẹm kọ́n sẹ́n to Jízọs sọ́m ọf di pípul wé de fọ́ló dẹm wè an sọm pípul wé de sọpọ́t Hẹ́rọd. Dis na sékọf sé, Yu nọ́ de kiá wẹ́dá pẹ́sin bi bíg man ọ nọ́ bi bíg man.

16. So they sent to Jesus some of their disciples and some supporters of Herod. These people said to Jesus, “Teacher, we know that You speak the truth. We know that You really teach people about what God wants people to do. You do not worry about what people think about You. This is because You do not care whether a person is an important person or not.

17. So mék Yu tẹ́l ọs, na wétín Yu tink? Abí awa Lọ alaú ọs mék wi pé taks gív Rómán King ọ mék wi nọ́ dú so?”

17. So tell us, what do You think? Does our Law permit us to pay taxes to the Roman Emperor or not?”

18. Bọt Jízọs sabí dẹm wíkẹ́d plan, naím I kọ́n sé, “Una bi tuú-fés pípul! Na wétín mék una de traí kách Mí fọ trap?

18. But Jesus knew their evil plan, so He said, “You hypocrites! Why are you trying to trap Me?

19. Mék una shó Mí di kọin wé pípul de ték pé taks.” Naím dẹm bríng Am wọ́n sílvá kọin.

19. Show Me the coin that people use for paying tax.” So they brought Him a silver coin.

20. Dẹn Jízọs kọ́n áks dẹm sé, “Na wích pẹ́sin píkchọ an nem dé fọ di kọin?”

20. Then Jesus asked them, “Whose image and name are on the coin?”

21. Dẹm ánsá, “Na Rómán King on.” Naím Jízọs tẹ́l dẹm sé, “Dẹn mék una gív Rómán King di tins wé bilọ́ng to Rómán King. An mék una gív Gọd di tins wé bilọ́ng to Gọd.”

21. They answered, “The Roman Emperor’s.” So Jesus said to them, “Then give to the Roman Emperor the things that belong to the Roman Emperor. And give to God the things that belong to God.”

22. Wẹ́n dẹm hiá wétín Jízọs tọk, dẹm sọpraíz wẹ́l wẹl. Naím dẹm lív Am kọ́n kọmọt.

22. When they heard what Jesus said, they were very surprised. So they left Him and went away.

24. They said, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a married man has no children before he dies, the man’s brother must marry his wife. Then they will have children for his dead brother.’

25. So, i gẹ́t sẹ́vún brọ́da wé wí an dẹm bin de lív hia. Di fẹ́st wọn mári, dẹn i kọ́n dai, bọt ím an im waif nó bọ́n pikin. Naím im brọ́da kọ́n márí im waif.

25. Now there were seven brothers who lived here among us. The first one married, then he died, but he and his wife had no children. So his brother married his wife.

26. Di sém tin hápún to di sẹ́kọ́n brọ́da an di tẹ́d brọ́da, sóteé gó rích di sẹ́vúnt brọ́da.

26. The same thing happened to the second brother and the third brother, all the way to the seventh brother.

29. Jesus answered them, “You are totally wrong. This is because you do not know what the word of God says. And you do not know the power of God.

30. Wẹ́n pípul wék ọ́p frọm dai, dẹm nọ́ go márí ích ọ́da. Dẹm go bí laik énjẹl-dẹm wé dé fọ hẹ́vun.

30. When people rise from death, they will not marry each other. They will be like the angels in heaven.

31. Bọt abaut wẹ́dá pípul go wék ọ́p frọm dai, abí una nẹ́vá ríd wétín Gọd tẹ́l una?

31. But about whether people will rise from death, have you not read what God said to you?

32. Gọd sé, ‘A bi di Gọ́d ọf Ébraham, di Gọ́d ọf Aízik, an di Gọ́d ọf Jékọp.’ Gọd nọ́ bi Gọ́d ọf pípul wé dọ́n dai. Na Gọ́d ọf pípul wé dé alaif.

32. God said, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ God is not the God of people who are dead. He is the God of people who are alive.”

33. Wẹ́n di pípul hiá wétín Jízọs tọk, dẹm sọpraíz wẹ́l wẹl sékọf wétín I de tich.

33. When the people heard what Jesus said, they were very surprised by what He taught.

38. Dis na di fẹ́st lọ, an na ím impọ́tánt pás ọ́l di ọ́dá lọ-dẹm.

38. This is the first and most important command.

39. Di sẹ́kọ́n lọ wé impọ́tánt pás ọ́l di ọ́dá lọ-dẹm bí laik di fẹ́st wọn. Di sẹ́kọ́n lọ sé, ‘Yu mọsto lọ́v ọ́dá pípul as yu lọ́v yọsẹf.’

39. The second most important command is like the first one. It says, ‘You must love other people as you love yourself.’

40. Ọ́l di lọ-dẹm wé Gọd gív Mósis an ọ́l di tins wé Gọd prọ́fẹt-dẹm bin tích pípul, dé ínsaíd dís tuú lọ.”
